Ingredients
1 cup butter
1 1/2 cups light corn syrup
4 cups sugar
2 large cans evaporated milk
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
1. Butter a dish for finished candy.

2. Using a heavy pan, melt butter.

3. Add light corn syrup and sugar and cook to a good boil.

4. Add evaporated milk gradually (don't let it stop boiling).

5. Cook to firm ball stage (235 degrees), stirring constatly.

6. Pour into buttered pan.

7. If desired, put nuts on top or bottom of candy.
