  Serves: makes about 2 dozen
Ingredients
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup light corn syrup
1/4 cup water
1 Tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Instructions
1. Combine first 3 ingredients in saucepan.

2. Cook over low heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved.

3. Then cook without stirring, to 265 deg on candy thermometer, or until a very hard ball forms when a little mixture is dropped in cold water.

4. Add butter. Cook to 290 deg or until it becomes brittle when a little mixture is dropped in cold water.

5. Remove from heat. Add vanilla. Drop from teaspoon onto greased pan.

6. Remove with spatula when firm.
