  Serves: makes 6 servings
Ingredients
2 cups sifted flour
3 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 egg, well-beaten
about 1/3 cup milk
4 cups sweetened, sliced or crushed strawberries
1/2 pint heavy cream
Instructions
1. Heat oven to 450 deg.

2. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and sugar together.

3. Cut butter into flour mixture with 2 knives or pastry blender, until like corn meal.

4. Add egg. Add enough milk to make a dough that can be easily handled.

5. Roll or pat dough into a round 1/2 inch thick.

6. Bake in 450 deg oven in greased 9 inch layer pan, 15 to 20 minutes or until done.

7. Cool. Top with strawberries and cream.
