Ingredients
Streusel mixture:
2 cups light brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 cup soft butter
1/2 cup flour
4 tsp. cinnamon
2 cups coarsely chopped walnuts (optional)

Batter:
3 cups sifted flour
5 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
2/3 cup butter, melted
1 cup milk
2 tsp. vanilla extract

*sift before measuring
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375 deg. Grease an 9x13x2 inch baking pan.

2. Make streusel mixture: In small bowl, combine brown sugar, butter, flour, cinnamon and nuts. Mix with fork until crumbly.  Set aside.

3. Make batter: Sift flour with baking powder and salt. Set aside.

4. In medium bowl, with rotary beater, beat egg until frothy.

5. Beat in sugar and butter until well combined. Add milk and vanilla.

6. With wooden spoon, stir in flour mixture until well combined.

7. Turn half of batter into prepared pan. Sprinkle evenly with half of streusel mixture. Repeat with remaining batter and streusel mixture.

8. Bake 25 to 30 minutes, or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean. Cool slightly in pan on wire rack. Serve warm.
