Ingredients
14 oz. pkg. vanilla caramels
1/3 cup evaporated milk
1 pkg. german chocolate cake mix
1 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 Tbsp. evaporated milk
6 oz. pkg. (1 cup) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Heat oven to 350 deg. In medium saucepan, over low heat, combine caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk, stirring constantly, until caramels are melted.

2. In large bowl, combine cake mix, nuts, butter and 2 tablespoons evaporated milk. Mix well.

3. Press half of dough in bottom of ungreased 13x9 inch pan reserve remaining dough for topping.

4. Bake at 350 deg for 8 minutes.

5. Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over partially baked crust. Carefully spread caramel mixture over chocolate chips. Crumble reserved dough over caramel mixture.

6. Return to oven and bake 15 to 18 minutes or until filling is set.

7. Cool completely cut into bars.
