  Serves: makes 12 2x3" squares
Ingredients
*2 cans cherries
*1/2 cup sugar
*1/4 tsp. salt
*1 tsp. lemon juice
1 pkg. dry yellow cake mix (white can be used)
1/4 cup softened butter
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

*May use cherry pie filling
Instructions
1. Heat oven to 350 deg.

2. Combine cherries, sugar, salt and lemon juice in 13x8 inch pan.

3. Spread evenly over bottom of pan.

4. Mix dry yellow cake mix and softened butter to a crumble and layer over cherries or layer dry yellow cake mix over apples and drizzle melted butter over it.

5. Sprinkle walnuts over top.

6. Bake 30 to 40 minutes.

7. Eat as is or top with whip cream or ice cream.
