Ingredients
Shortcake Dough:
1 cup sifted flour
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. butter
1/2 cup milk

Fruit Mixture:
1 cup sugar
1 Tbsp. corn starch
1 cup boiling water or syrup from canned fruit
3 cups fruit
1/2 Tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Instructions
1. Make shortcake dough. Sift flour, sugar, baking powder and salt together.

2. Cut butter into flour mixture until fine.

3. Stir in milk to make soft dough. Set aside.

4. Make fruit mixture. Mix sugar and corn starch together in saucepan.

5. Gradually add water or syrup.

6. Stir constantly and bring to a boil. Boil one minute.

7. Add fruit. Pour into a 10x6x2 inch baking pan.

8. Dot with shortcake dough by spoonfuls over top of fruit and sprinkle with cinnamon.

9. Bake at 400 deg for 30 minutes.

10. Serve warm with cream.
