  Serves: makes 1 loaf
Ingredients
2 Tbsp. warm water
3/4 tsp. yeast
4 1/2 tsp. butter
1 1/4 cup scalded milk
3 1/2 cup flour
4 1/2 tsp. sugar
Instructions
1. Pour water into bowl.  Sprinkle in yeast and sugar. Let yeast soften about 10 minutes, or until bubbles rise to the top.  Then set aside.

2. Meanwhile, scald milk. Then melt butter in scalded milk.

3. Cool this mixture.

4. Add 1/2 the flour. Beat well.

5. Add yeast mixture. Mix.

6. Add rest of flour.

7. Knead until bread dough is smooth, about 10 minutes.

8. Let rise until double in bulk.

9. Punch dough down.  Make into loaf and put in greased pan. Let rise again.

10. Bake at 375 deg for 10 minutes.

11. Turn oven down to 350 deg and bake for another 35 minutes.
