Ingredients
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/3 cup nuts
Instructions
1. Heat oven to 350 deg. Grease bottom only of 8x4 or 9x5 inch loaf pan.

2. In large bowl, combine sugar and butter blended thoroughly. Add eggs mix well. Stir in buttermilk. Add flour, cocoa, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Stir just until dry particles are moistened. Stir in nuts.

3. Pour into prepared pan.

4. Bake for 55 to 65 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

5. Cool upright in pan 15 minutes. remove from pan cool completely.
